Larry L. Madsen

March 19, 1941 — October 26, 2009

Larry L. Madsen, 68, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009 at his home in Goldendale, WA. He was born on March 18, 1941 in La Junta, Colorado to Fay C. & Hannah (Porter) Madsen. He grew up in La Junta and graduated from high school class of 1960. While in high school he ran a local service station. During his career he drove trucks and worked for the Burlington Northern, Santa Fe and Union Pacific for 33 years.
He moved to Wishram, Washington and married Jeanette Sue Wilson on November 23, 1990 in Brush Prairie, Washington. In 1993 they moved to Goldendale where they remained.
Larry loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and restoring classic cars. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan and a golfer with a membership to the Goldendale Golf Course. He enjoyed table games, gardening and kids. He crafted many birdhouses out of his gourds and everyone knew him as a master joke teller. He also served on the Wishram School Board and was President of the local union.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette of the family home in Goldendale; children, Rick Corbin of California; Peggy Sue Corbin-Romero of Colorado; Larry Madsen of Michigan; Carl of South Carolina; Suzette Lynch of Scappoose, OR; Gerald Madsen of Vancouver, WA; Bryan Madsen of Idaho; & Hannah Madsen of Battle Ground, WA; brothers, Dwayne Madsen of Indiola, Iowa; & Darrel Madsen of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Sandy Barry of Enumclaw, WA; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Sheryl Miller, Delma Lee Simpson, & Doris Ann Madsen; and brother, Bob Madsen.
Graveside services will be Monday, November 9, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., at Fairview Cemetery. 
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


In lieu of flowers family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in Larry’s name to the Klickitat Valley Hospice, 310 South Roosevelt, Goldendale, WA, 98620 direct or through Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home.
