Lawrence Trujillo, 86, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on March 8, 2019 at the Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo. He was born in Fowler, Colorado to Adolph & Melecia Trujillo. He married Albina “Mary” Valerio on May 12, 1950 in Rocky Ford, Colorado; she preceded him in death on August 20, 2013.
He retired from the Pueblo Army Depot after 40 years of federal service. After retiring he was employed at the Pueblo Greyhound Park as a Security Guard.
He leaves behind his beloved children, Florence (Tommy) Martinez, Martha (Archie) Martinez and Lawrence (Lydia) Trujillo Jr.; four grandchildren, Eugene Chaparro, Amanda Elliott, Deanna Hofmann, and Tommy Martinez, II; five great-grandchildren, Taylor and Marcus Hofmann, Nicole Chaparro, Jakob and Presley Elliott. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Thursday, March 14, 2019, 10:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. both services will St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rocky Ford with Father Paul Ekeh officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta. Interment will follow at the Rocky Ford Cemetery.
