Linda Sue Root

Linda Sue Root, 67, passed away on July 30, 2017 at her La Junta home. She was born on August 17, 1949 in La Junta, Colorado to Claude C. & Mildred Grace (Eddy) Jenkins. She married Albert Alan Root on June 6, 1971 at the United Methodist Church in La Junta.

Linda worked at Mayer Flower Shop, Sears, ATSF Railroad, Colorado Bank & Trust, Koshare Museum, and was also a Doula at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was on the Hospital Auxiliary, and also part of the local chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was especially proud of her family.

She is survived by her husband, Alan of the La Junta home; son, Aaron (Shalaine) Root of Thornton, CO; daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Jackson of La Junta; two granddaughters and two grandsons; one nephew and two nieces; numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister & brother-in-law, Jo Ann (Charles O.) Jones.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene with Ron Skorick of the First Christian Church officiating.
