Lois A. Skipper

Lois Anita Moseley Skipper, 84, of La Junta, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. She was born on January 1, 1927 to Frances Young & Ester Christine (Lofdahl)Moseley of Lincoln County where she was raised on the Keystone Ranch and worked along side her 5 sisters, Jean, Mazie, Dixie, Gladys, and Joyce. She graduated from Sugar City High School. She married Clarence Eugene Skipper on Septermber 27, 1957.
During her life she dearly loved bowling on the Wednesday Morning Early Bird league in La Junta. She also worked as a Psychiatric Technician in Kansas; she worked at the telephone company numerous years ago and worked at the PX at Camp Carson for a period of time. She also was a bookkeeper and a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening and working on the ranch helping her mother and father. She had a strong love for family and encouraged those that knew her to reach their fullest potential. 
Lois is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Clarence Eugene Skipper of the La Junta home; children, Brent (Glenda) Skipper of Pueblo; and Rod (Patricia) Crosby of El Paso, TX; three grandchildren, Jeremy (Melissa) Horn of Manzanola; Mandy Horn of La Junta; and Kimberly (Brandon) Long of Fayetteville, NC; eight great-grandchildren, Emily, JJ, Libby, Emma, Anna, Lane, Lee, and Landon; sisters, Gladys Moseley Franklin of La Junta; and Joyce Moseley Harmon of Rocky Ford and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances Young & Ester Christine Moseley; sisters, Jean Moseley Callahan of San Antonio, TX; Mazie Moseley Pedot of Limo, CO; and Dixie Moseley Thompson of Dallas, TX. 
Memorial Services will be Friday, February 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Cindy Josephson of the Tabor Lutheran Church in Pueblo, Colorado officiating. Inurnment will follow at 2 p.m. at the Ft. Lyon National Cemetery. 
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family request that monetary contributions be made to the Masonic Fraternity.
