Louis B. Salazar

Louis B. Salazar, 81, of La Junta passed away November 14, 2010 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 18, 1929 in Model, Colorado to Luis & Oclires (Gallegos) Salazar.
Louis worked at Western Foods and also worked for the City of La Junta. Louis was #1 fan for all High School sporting events. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Joe (Dee) Encinias, Josie (Jake) Gonzales, Louise (Bengie) Candelario, and Julia Ortiz all of La Junta; grandchildren, Christy (Dan) Roberts of Golden, CO, Kimberly (Archie) Torres of Cripple Creek, CO, Mark Encinias of La Junta, Monica (Joe) Salas of La Junta, Christopher (DaNae) Candelario of Colorado Springs, Laura Candelario of La Junta, Jeremy (Heidi) Candelario of La Junta, Joel (Dawn) Ortiz of La Junta, and Josh Ortiz of St. Paul, Minnesota; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Orcelia (Joe) Ramirez, Albertina Gonzales, Robert (Emma) Salazar, Serafin (Geneva) Salazar, Elizabeth (Bob) Valdez, Joe (Isabel) Salazar, Eddie (Lydia) Salazar, Juan (Janie) Cordova, and Judy Medina; sister-in-law, Lucy Vigil and brother-in-law, Joe Gonzales.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Luis & Oclires Salazar; wife, Monica, grandson, Steven Encinias; granddaughter, Jamie Encinias-Just; brothers and their spouses, Orlando (Juanita) Salazar, Alfred (Bertha) Salazar; brother-in-law, Joe “Jiggy” Gonzales.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. and the Funeral Mass will be Thursday, November 18, 2010, at 10:00 a.m., both services will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Alphonsus Ihuoma officiating.
