Louis Magana

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish in La Junta, Colorado, for Louis Magana of Eugene, Oregon who died June 16, 2012 of complications of pneumonia. He was 73.

He was born Jan. 30, 1939, in La Junta, to Louis and LaLa (Mata) Magana. He married Dorothy Martinez on May 8, 1959 in La Junta, they later divorced.

He graduated from La Junta High School, in 1958. Louis was the manager of Karl Shoe Stores in Woodland and Roseville, California for seven years from 1963 - 1970. He worked for Mobil Chemical Company in their plastic division as a machinist from 1970 - 1995 when he retired after 25 years.

Survivors include four children; three sisters, Hastolia Magana; Clyda Magana; Rebecca Magana, all of La Junta, and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marcel Magana.

Burial will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital or Oregon Veterans direct or through the funeral home.
