Luciano Chavez, 73, of La Junta, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Luciano was born on July 14, 1936 in Vaughn, New Mexico to Domingo & Julia (Roybal) Chavez.
He worked as a farm laborer for many years and worked for Buck Bursheras. He also was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish.
Luciano is survived by his sisters, Sadie Sandoval, Stella Torrez, Meggie (Eulojio) Medina, Flora Esquibel, Dorothy Gutierrez, Ramona Chavez all of La Junta; also several nieces and nephews survive; Eddie Chavez of Peralta, NM; whom he always thought of as a brother.
Luciano was preceded in death by his parents, brother Domingo Chavez, Jr.; sister Gloria Chavez.
