Lynda M. Pantoya

Lynda M. Pantoya, 63, of Rocky Ford, passed away Nov. 2, 2011 in Pueblo.  Lynda was born September 28, 1948 in Rocky Ford, CO to Cipriana Mary Madrid and Eliseo Joe Sr. Masias.

She attended school in Rocky Ford and enjoyed working at her father's restaurant in Colorado Springs during the summertime. After graduation, she married Frank Pantoya in 1970, and they began their life and family together. She attended Vogue Beauty Academy in Colorado Springs and received her license in cosmetology. In which, she participated in several platform competitions. However, she was better known for her gifted-talent locally where she was employed at All Around Cuts.

Lynda was also an active member in the Catholic Church and enjoyed serving as a teacher, in the women's organization and singing in the choir. She also enjoyed spending time with the Lord in prayer and Bible Study.

Lynda truly truly loved and enjoyed her family, friends and people.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Joe Jr. Masias and James Masias. She is survived by her husband, Frank Pantoya; daughters, Pamela Pantoya and Raquel Pantoya (David Navarrete); grandsons, Anton Pantoya, Izrael Navarrete, Cruz Navarrete, Abram Navarrete and Ezra Navarrete of Rocky Ford, CO; brothers, Bob Masias of Rocky Ford, Rudy (Charlotte) Masias of Longmont, CO, Ed (Rita) Masias of Rocky Ford, Terry (Peggy) Masias of Chandler, AZ, and Richard Madrid of Eastland, TX; sisters, Cindy Masias, Roberta Masias and Priscilla (Vincent) Flores of Rocky Ford, CO and Carol Tapia of NM. Along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and godchildren also survive.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Cathlic Church in Rocky Ford.  Inurnment will follow the Mass at the Rocky Ford Cemetery.
