Margaret “Peggy” Elizabeth Enloe

Margaret Elizabeth Enloe, 80, of Rocky Ford, CO passed away Thursday April 25, 2024, at Pioneer Health Care Center in Rocky Ford. She was born Wednesday, July 21, 1943, in La Junta, CO to Marion & Margaret (Hayes) Roberts.
Margaret “Peggy” Enloe was the oldest daughter of Marion “Bud” & Margaret Roberts and was the 4th of 8 children. She was Miss La Junta and Queen of Kids Rodeo in 1958. In 1959 she was one of the founding members of the Mounted Girl Scout Troop as well as being the secretary for them. She graduated from La Junta High School in 1960 then worked at Woolworths in La Junta for a couple years. After that she moved to Ft. Collins, CO and was a stay-at-home mom through the early 1970’s. Peggy then took a secretary job at CSU in Ft. Collins in the mid 1970’s – 1980. The family moved down to Pueblo, CO where she worked as a secretary for a construction company for 2 years. In the summer of 1981 Peggy was a member of the Pueblo Police Reserves. In 1982 the family relocated to Denver where she took a clerical job with a petroleum company until 1994. She then worked in Black Hawk and Central City in the casinos as a change woman until 1998. The following year she worked as a cashier for Walmart in Denver then in Lamar before her retirement. She was a joy to be around and would bring a smile to everyone’s face. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
Peggy is survived by her children, Mike McLaughlin of Rocky Ford, CO; Pattie (Layne) Anderson-Bezona of Coolidge, KS; Missy (Roger) Hoover of Rocky Ford, CO; grandchildren, Amber (Thomas) Francis of Lamar, CO; Anthony McLaughlin of Parachute, CO; Pamela (Steven) Preece; Brandi (Colby) Hummel; Noel McLaughlin; Shania (Marcus) Cederburg; great-grandchildren, Braydyn, James & Cally McCracken, Noah McCall, Emma Francis, Sierra & Winter McLaughlin; Wyatt, Wesley & AbbieLeigh Preece; Emberley & Roman Hummel, Aurora McLaughlin, and Carter & Cole Cederburg; siblings, Steve (Nadine) Roberts of La Junta, CO; Debbie (Steve) Norris of La Junta, CO; Dave (Jan) Roberts of Las Animas, CO; Carol Leach of San Francisco, CA; and Larry Roberts. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Gaye McLaughlin; parents, “Bud" & Margaret Roberts; brothers, Charles & Gary Roberts.
There are no formal services planned at this time.
