Maria E. Salas

Maria Edumenia Salas, 73, of La Junta passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010 at her home. She was born on April 29, 1937 in Pitkin, Colorado to Juan Pablo & Carolina (Duran) Dominguez.
Maria was an avid softball fan, Broncos and Cowboys fan. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Elaine) Salas of Kansas; Joe (Monica) Salas of La Junta; Vickey (Ted) Aguilar of Colorado Springs; Becky Salas of the family home; Nash (Sandy) Salas of La Junta; Ray (Joan) Salas of La Junta; Josie (Roberto) Guerrero of Texas; Nancy Salas of La Junta; John (Andrea) Salas, Jr. of La Junta; Viola Salas of La Junta; Sam (Denise) Salas of La Junta; son-in-law, Joe Romero of La Junta; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and two great, great-grandchildren; sisters, Arcelia Gallegos, Betty DiMarco, Lillian Bueno, Mickey Martinez, Gertrude Salas; several nieces & nephews and lots of special friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, Sr., parents, Juan Pablo & Carolina Dominguez; baby son, Gerald Salas; siblings, Louise Roybal, Clara Espinoza, and Abel Dominguez;.
Recitation of the Rosary will be Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. and Funeral Mass will be Friday, September 3, 2010 at 10 a.m.; both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Charles Sena of St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
