Maria P. Vasquez

Maria P. Vasquez, 100, of La Junta, passed away on November 1, 2012 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center.  She was born on January 24, 1912 in Durango, Mexico to Jose & Felicitas (Garibay) Madrano.

Maria is survived by her children, Esther (Simon) Villagran of Garden City, KS, Francisco (Marcelina) Vasquez of El Paso, TX, Rodolfo (Ramona) Vasquez of La Junta, Trinidad (Pilar) Vasquez of La Junta, Juana (Tomas) Federico of Roswell, NM, Bertha Moncada of La Junta, Santiago (Jenny) Vasquez of La Junta; 25 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren, and six great, great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Angel Vasquez, sons, Ignacio and Beto Vasquez.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


Funeral Mass will be Monday, November 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Alphonsus Ihuoma officiating. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. prior to the Mass. Visitation will be Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
