Maria Theresa Shelton

Maria Theresa Shelton, 79, passed away on August 22, 2018 at her Fowler home. She was born on January 2, 1939 in Budapest, Hungary to Vilhelm & Mari (Schoneck) Knolmayer. She married Hank M. Shelton on May 4, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada; he preceded her in death on July 29, 2013.

Maria was a nurse for over 30 years where she enjoyed carking for people. She enjoyed gardening and her roses, loved watching her hummingbird feed, enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends and her church family. Also enjoyed keeping up the ranch.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia Smith of Fowler; Patricia (Gavin) Little of Richmond, UT; Erin Hedden of La Junta; siblings, Helen Racobs of Parker, CO; William (Linda) Knolmayer of Colorado Springs and Cathy (Frank) Montoya of Trinidad, CO; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Helen Knolmayer; husband, Hank M. Shelton; son, Donald Hansen; brother-in-law, Craig Racobs.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ with Evangelist Terry Smalling officiating.
