Mary Louise Vialpando

Mary Louise Vialpando, 86, of Las Animas passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in La Junta on October 2, 2016. She was born on May 30, 1930 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Anastacio & Gavina (Duran) Ortiz.

Mary Louise was a loving mother and wonderful homemaker. She had a very strong Catholic faith and beliefs. She enjoyed making green chilli, tortillas, and playing chantea (card game), and making photo albums for all of her family. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends show your support by wearing Mary’s favorite color of purple.

She is survived by her children, Yolanda Reyes, Valerie Vialpando-Alvares, Mario Reyes, Salvador (Donna) Ortiz, Robert Ortiz, Victor (Becky) Vialpando, Henry John (Tina) Vialpando, John Henry Vialpando, and Dino Vialpando; 29 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great,great-grandchildren; four sisters, and one brother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry Vialpando, son, Joseph Vialpando, son, Kenny Romero, sister, Cindy Nunez, and infant twins.
