Melva Sue Hall

Melva Sue Hall, 86, of La Junta, passed away on July 21, 2018 at the Bent County Memorial Nursing Home. She was born on December 2, 1931 in La Junta to Karl & Anna Ellen (Taylor) Eye. Melva Sue married Ben N. Hall on June 2, 1950 in Raton, NM.

Melva Sue worked at Wiswell Creamery, Messenger Girl for the Santa Fe Railroad, North La Junta Sewer District and a longtime member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was a wife, mother, plumber, mechanic, carpenter, Maytag repairman, and master gardener.

She is survived by her husband, Ben of the La Junta home; daughter, Nancy Harrington of La Junta; sons, Richard Hall of Oregon and Steven Hall of La Junta, and daughter Lori Ann Hall of La Junta. Eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren survive. Melva Sue was preceded in death by her parents, aunts & uncles, Charleen & Raymond Minck, Larry Hall, “Bonnie” Janetta & “Babe” Leslie Jaynes, and Barbara A. Eye.

Memorial service will be held Monday, July 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel, 401 Raton Avenue in La Junta with Pastor Ed Kite of the La Junta First Church of God officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Arkansas Valley Hospice Assoc., P.O. Box 408, La Junta, CO, 81050 direct or through the funeral home.
