Michael A. Becerra

Michael "Miguel" Becerra, 51, passed away on August 7, 2014 at his La Junta home. He was born on August 5, 1963 to Margaret (Whatley) and Raymond J. Becerra in La Junta.


Miguel attended La Junta schools and worked at Otero Junior College for the last 17 years. He enjoyed going to rock concerts, especially KISS concerts, and he was a huge San Francisco 49ers fan.


Miguel is survived by his wife, Kimberly Paugh of the La Junta home; son, Christopher (Danielle) Becerra of Colorado Springs; step-children, Duncan & Brianna Habinck of La Junta; mother, Margaret Becerra of La Junta; sisters, Gloria Rivera of Brush, CO and Lori Becerra of La Junta; niece, Celia Montanez of La Junta; great-nieces, Rae Anne, Alicia and Amaya Vasquez; and nephew, Anthony Montanez, Jr. He was preceded by his father and his brother, Raymond Becerra, Jr.


Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Monday, August 11, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Father Matthew Wertin officiating. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
