Patricia Faye Knudsen

December 8, 1940 — March 24, 2010

Patricia Faye (Basham) Knudsen was born in La Junta, Colorado on Dec 8, 1940 to Ernest Fay and Frieda (Bemiss) Basham. Patricia graduated from the La Junta High School class of 1958 and then attended the Nazarene College for two years in Bethany, Oklahoma. Patricia moved back to Colorado and worked at the National Jewish Hospital in Denver as a secretary to the chief of chest medicine.

Patricia met her future husband Tom Knudsen in Denver while he was stationed at Lowry Air Force base. Reverend Terry married them on July 28, 1962 in the La Junta Nazarene church.

After her 30-year management career with IBM, Patricia and Tom moved back to Colorado and settled in Pagosa Springs for 10 years. Patricia and Tom moved to Canon City in 2006 and resided there until her death on March 24, 2010.

Her parents, Ernest Fay and Frieda Basham, her sister Jane Greer, whom all resided in La Junta, preceded Patricia in death. Patricia is survived by her husband Tom of Canon City, and her two brothers Dan Basham of La Junta, David Basham of Colorado Springs and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at the First Church of the Nazarene in La Junta on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be Sunday, March 28th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta following the service.
