Phillip Rudy Otero, 43, of La Junta passed away on October 2, 2020 at the Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo. He was born on January 22, 1977 in La Junta to Narcisso, Jr. & Catherine C. (Barela) Otero.

Phillip graduated from La Junta High School. He worked for Dean Foods and was also a Correctional Officer at Crowley County. He enjoyed cooking food for his family and friends, while watching his Oakland Raider team play. He also loved classic and lowrider cars. He enjoyed car shows and loved driving in his Chevy Impala. Most of all loved to spread his eternal love for his family and friends. Phillip truly lived life to the fullest through the simple pleasures. He continued to fight strong and never gave up, until the day he left to be with the Lord.

He is survived by his parents, Rudy (Cathy) Otero; sisters, Valerie Otero and Christine Otero all of La Junta; nephews, Anthony Otero, Jonavon Otero and Elijah Chavez; four uncles, five aunts and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Catarino (Magdalena) Barela; Narcisso Otero, Sr.; Virginia DeHerrera; two uncles and two aunts.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Friday, October 9, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. both services will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Henry Wertin officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.

The family will receive your condolences at the family home at 1108 Topeka Avenue, La Junta.
