Polly Jessie

Polly Jessie, 82, passed away on September 16, 2018 at her Ordway home. She was born on September 8, 1936 in Beech Creek, West Virginia to Harmon & Bessie (Hatfield) Mahon.

Polly's greatest pleasure in life was taking care of and cooking for other people. This was evident based on her 30+ years of feeding kids at the Crowley County School lunch room. Polly also enjoyed meeting all of the new officers at the Crowley County Sheriff's Office by inviting them to her house for a loaf of her famous banana bread. Family was very important to her and she often put the needs of others before her own. She was especially fond of her grandchildren.

Some of Polly's hobbies were yardsaling, her workbooks, watching Judge Judy and magazine shopping for shoes. She especially enjoyed talking to friends and relatives on the phone and she loved when people stopped by for a visit. Polly will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Teresa (David) Gaskill of Pueblo West; Monica (Shawn) Hartman of La Junta; Sandra (Zac) Whaley of Cruger, MS; Jackie (Donna) Jessie of Hanover, WV; sister, Gertrude Daniels of Majestic, KY; grandchildren, James (Amanda) Jessie of Baisden, WV; Daniel (Nancy) Jessie of Lenore, WV; Brittany (Eean) Remley of Pueblo West; Kaitlyn (Robby) Hasty of Canon City, CO; Austin (Dejonet) Hopkins of Ordway; Aaron Hopkins of Ordway; Tosha Broom of Borger, TX and Dustin Gaskill of Pueblo West; five great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Kidd; daughter, Brenda Jessie; siblings, Ace, Plint, and Early Mahon and Bertha Boyd.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the River of Life Fellowship in Ordway with Pastor Jeb Brown officiating.
