Ralph George Broce, 88, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at his Kim home. He was born September 9, 1923 to George & Nola (Blankney) Broce in La Junta, Colorado. He married M.E. Thompson on September 27, 1944 in Raton, New Mexico.
Ralph graduated from Kim High School and served in the United States Army during World War II. He owned and operated the Kim Mercantile, propane business, transported livestock and was a rancher. He was also a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, M.E. Broce of the Kim home; daughter, Pat Broce; daughter-in-law, Nancy Tibbetts Broce; sister, Betty Jo (Jim) Stone; brothers, Don Broce and Bud (Rose) Broce; two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Nola Broce; son, Bill Broce; and his brother Charles Broce.
Memorial service will be Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kim High School Gymnasium with Reverend Greg Brown of the Kim Baptist Church officiating.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to the Kim Volunteer Fire Department or the Kim Baptist Church direct or through the funeral home.
