Ramona June Carnes

Ramona June Carnes, 84, passed away on September 27, 2020 at her La Junta home. She was born on June 24. 1936 in Holly, Colorado to Wallace & Edna Grace (Stwalley) Hartshorn.

Ramona's hobbies included Avon collectibles, especially her Albee's, reading and crocheting. She was a strong supporter of the Food Network, always tuned in on perfecting her cooking skills, with pen and paper ready for that special recipe for her family's enjoyment. She always cheered for Colorado sports teams but most importantly she cheered her family. Her green Buick was consistently at every event, come rain, wind and even blizzard. She was always there with a heart full of love, warm smile of encouragement, and a hug if needed. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Robert) Hollis of Tuttle, OK; Marla (Mike) Allen of Fowler; siblings, Pat Daniels of Illinois; Diana (Bruce) Hamm and Kay Frea all of Lamar; grandchildren, Valerie (Jade) Hebberd, Daniel (Tierra) Carnes, Alicia (Preston) Baker, Matthew (Chi-Ann) Johnson, Brittany Carnes, Micaela Hollis, Chelsie (Brian) Petrie, Rory (Renee) Carnes, and Jared (Susie) Carnes; 31 great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Donald L. Carnes, Jr. on July 7, 1994; grandson, Nathan Hollis; two sisters and four brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Swink United Methodist Church.
