Rebecca "Becky Robbins

Rebecca “Becky” Robbins, 85, lifetime La Junta resident, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Reverend Ron Skorick of the First Christian Church officiating. Internment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery.
She was born on June 12, 1923 to Henry & Christina (Geringer) Schweizer, Sr. in Otero County near Fort Bent. Becky was married to Ralph Robbins, on Feb. 13, 1945, in Raton, New Mexico; Ralph preceded her in death on May 30, 1998. Becky worked as a waitress at the Dixie Shop and as a clerk at Rexall’s prior to marriage. Following marriage she was a stay at home mom raising her three boys. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and cooking her angel food cakes and home made noodles. For many years Becky was an active member of the First Christian Church.
Becky is survived by her sons, Dale Robbins of La Junta, Roger (Janice) Robbins of Brighton, CO, and Warren (Janice) Robbins of Dodge City, KS; brother Adam Schweizer of Noel, MO, and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and twelve brothers & sisters.
