Retha Mae Hensley

Retha Mae Hensley, 94, passed away on September 20, 2017 at her La Junta home. She was born on March 13, 1923 to Floyd B. & Laverna F. McCray in La Junta.

Retha enjoyed her years as a Cosmetology instructor at the Lamar Junior College then moved to Colorado Springs where she taught for many more years. After retiring she enjoyed her yard and growing beautiful roses and her love of making porcelain dolls and her special little POO dog. She will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Joyce Barks, Paulette (Kent) Waggoner, Walter “Bub” (Lola Baublits) Bland, and Michaele (Bill) Boggs.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be prior to services. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
