Rita R. Luehring

Rita Rose Luehring 84, of La Junta passed away on January 14, 2012 at Emeritus at Green Mountain in Lakewood, Colorado. She was born January 10, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Stanley & Rose (Luczak) Wysocki . Rita spent the first 29 years of her life in Chicago where she met the love of her life Howard.  They were married March 23, 1956 and their life together took them to Manhattan and Topeka, Kansas; Amarillo, Texas; Belen, New Mexico and La Junta, Colorado, where Rita and Howard have lived since 1965. 


Rita was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Amateur (Ham) Radio Club, and Crossroads Church in Swink, Colorado. She was a volunteer at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center for over 30 years. Rita was a proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family and friends dearly. She loved to do embroidery and shared her work with finished gifts to family and friends.
Rita is survived by her three sons, Dennis (Bea) Luehring of  Loveland, Colorado, Robert (Mary) Luehring of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Ron (Judy) Luehring of Lakewood, Colorado; five grandchildren, Manual Hernandez, Josie (Wally) Janz, Joe (Angel) Luehring, Melissa (Shiloh) Luehring Shrock, and Tyler (Stephanie) Luehring; and three great-children, Madeline and Marie Janz, & Ryan Luehring.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Howard on July 26, 2011; brothers,  John, Stanley, Tony, Charlie, Fredrick Wysocki and sisters, Betty Wysocki-Kamen and Beatrice Wysocki-McKay
Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Crossroads Church in Swink with Pastor Mike Beecham officiating.   Visitation will be Monday, January 16, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.  Interment will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
