Robert Eugene Frazier

April 15, 1956 — September 21, 2021

Robert E. Frazier, beloved husband, father, brother and friend, passed away on September 21, 2021 at his La Junta home at the age of 65, after a long battle with cancer. He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends from across the country.

Robert was born on April 15, 1956 in Rocky Ford to Joe & Agnes (Parker) Frazier. He eventually met his wife of 43 years, Rita (Torrez) Frazier, in La Junta. They would sing their song together, Ventura Highway by America, on their anniversary every year. Robert and Rita spent much of their marriage in Amarillo, Texas, raised three children there, and eventually returned home to La Junta.

Known as a renaissance man, Robert had an artist’s spirit. His passion for music meant countless hours strumming his guitar and singing along with his distinctive, soothing voice, as well as listening to records from The Beatles, Jethro Tull and Led Zeppelin. He filled his house with his own oil paintings, trying out different styles and subjects. He loved funny movies, telling old stories, and he really loved to laugh – his giggle was infectious. Robert was known for his love of his God, Jehovah, and his love for people. A father figure to many, he was always there to listen to people’s problems and offer wise counsel from the scriptures.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Rita; sons Andrew Frazier of Amarillo, TX, and Ian (Samantha) Frazier of Steamboat Springs, CO; daughter Penny Frazier of La Junta; brother, Butch Frazier of La Junta; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Audrey Higgins, Blanche Terry, Glen Frazier, Sandra Woodyard, and Gary "Jake" Frazier.

Robert had strong faith in the Bible’s promise that one day “death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore (Rev. 21:4).” He loved taking in God’s creation, caring for animals and plants, and he looked forward to enjoying it forever in the future Paradise to come (Ps. 37:29).

As per Robert’s request cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.PeacockFH.com. Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements. He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends from across the country.
