Sadie F. Crouch

December 13, 1902 — April 17, 2010

Sadie Faye Crouch, 107, of La Junta passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in La Junta with Dr. Rex Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, April 19, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
Sadie was born in Dodge City, Kansas on December 13, 1902 to Luther W. & Anna R. (Mullendore) Devoe. She lived in Wright, Kansas. Sadie married Lloyd Crouch in Syracuse, Kansas on Feb. 19, 1944 and made their home in La Junta.  The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1994; he preceded her in death in 1995.
She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church where she served as the financial secretary and was a leader of the Guild Girls for many years.  She retired from Safeway in La Junta where she was a butcher. Her greatest enjoyment was fishing and hunting arrowheads.  She was always ready to go anywhere, any time. She sincerely loved people and they her. Sadie will be missed by her family and many friends. God blessed us all by her presence in our lives.  She was met by family and friends at the head of The stairs as God says “Enter my good and faithful servant” we’ve been waiting for you.” Special thanks to Martha and Bert Stoker, Jake & Ann Johannes for being there in her time of need.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Louise McKee of Oak Lawn, Illinois; step-daughter, Nona (Ted) Grimson of Eagle Nest, NM; grandchildren, Donna (Floyd) Green of LeMarque, TX; Debbie Adams of Houston, TX; Jean (Danny) Kent of Tinley Park, Ill.; Larry (Martha) McKee of Peru, Ill.; step-grandchildren who loved her, Nonie (Bryant) Payne of Salida, CO; Terry (Carol) Seal of Canon City, CO; LouAnn (Alvin) Cole of Salida, CO; also survived by a large extended family of numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Sadie was preceded in death by her parents, two devoted sons, Dale & Elvan; two step-daughters, JoAnn Boxley; Wanda Cescoline.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
