Shirley Ann Meister

October 21, 1936 — January 5, 2022

Shirley Ann Meister, 85, passed away on January 5, 2022, at her La Junta home. She was born on October 21, 1936, in Pawnee City, Nebraska to Edward Virgil & Sylvia Benita (Siple) Burnham.

She grew up in Pueblo. Later married Lloyd Richard Meister and moved to Denver where she worked for Nissan/Datsun Company as a parts-woman for many years. They raised seven children together.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, being outdoors, traveling and spending time with her husband and children. She was an avid reader and loved the Lord and was strong in her faith. She will be missed by her loving family and friends.

Shirley is survived by her children, Betty (Jerry) Koepke of Ashby, NE; Sylvia (Jim) Zeurcher of Thompson Falls, MT; Sharlene Wood of Gem, KS; Tammy (Jesse Dodge) Wingard of Moriarty, NM; Richard (Michelle) Meister of Brighton, CO; Daniel Meister of La Junta; sister, Mary Jo Cesar of La Junta; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and four great, great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Judy Meister, four brothers and two sisters.

As per Shirley’s request cremation has taken place and services will be at a later date.
