Susan Kay Elliott

March 12, 1946 — July 6, 2020

Susan Kay Elliott, 74, passed away on July 6, 2020 at her La Junta home. She was born on March 12, 1946 in Denver to Earl & Helen Juanita (Marvin) Elliott.

Susan was a wonderful mom, she worked hard to make sure her children had what they needed and took them on many awesome vacations like camping, and to the Cayman Islands multiple times. The beach was one of her favorite places; relaxing in the sun and watching the waves roll in. Her grandchildren were the light of her life; when they were young she would pack them up and take them to interactive plays at Heritage Square or to Tiny Town to explore. She loved taking them overnight and playing games with them, she never missed a school function whether it be an award ceremony or a choir concert and was always cheering them on in any sport that they participated in. As they grew older and she moved from Denver to La Junta she did no see them as much but you could always see her eyes light up when she talked about them or was able to see them. Her grandchildren will appreciate the photo albums she created while they were growing for many years.

Susan had a passion for art and after retiring in La Junta she enjoyed all forms of art and meeting with her fellow art lovers and friends to have lunch and talk about art and just enjoy their company.

She is survived by her children, Jeffri, Dawnde, and Steve (Jana); the loves of her life her grandchildren, Jacob, Cody, Chase, Taylour, and Talon. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son-in-law, Michael.

As per Susan’s request cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
