Tj Hunt

Theodore J. “TJ” Hunt, 46, of Sterling, passed away November 18th, 2016 in Sterling.

TJ was born April 11th, 1970 in La Junta, Colorado to Jim Hunt and Barbra Wiechmann. TJ attended La Junta schools later graduating from Pueblo County High School in 1988. After graduating TJ got involved in law enforcement, and at the time of his death was a Sergeant with the Logan County Sheriff’s Department. He loved golfing, hunting, and fishing - but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and serving his community with his brothers and sisters in blue.

TJ is survived by sons, Tanner, Ethan, and Mason Hunt; mother, Barbra (Don) Hjelmstad; father, Jim (Bobbie Spinuzzi) Hunt; sister, Jamie Bryant (Darrell Bogart); nieces, Katie Bryant (Paul Martinez), & Erika Bryant (Tino Valle); aunt, Kay (Bruce) Place, and extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Wammy & Betty Wiechmann and Owen & Florence Hunt.

TJ loved his community of Sterling and they loved him. He impacted everyone he met or worked with. His smile and laugh were infectious. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and his family in blue.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, December 10th, 2016 at 1:30 pm at Holy Cross/St. Andrews church in La Junta, with Pastor Mary Hendricks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in TJ’s name to Hospice or Holy Cross/St. Andrews Church.
