Tena Huff

Tena Huff, 71, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at her La Junta home. She was born on November 15, 1940 to John Ernest & Delta Mae (Johnson) Holmes in Chickasha, Oklahoma.  She married Delbert L. Huff on April 15, 1961 in Campo, Colorado; he preceded her in death on December 12, 2002.

Tena was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family and friends dearly.  Her faith integrity and honor were very important to her and she passed it onto her children. She inspired others to set goals and work hard to make them a reality. Momma will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, Deborah S. (David Fern) Huff of Pueblo, Denise A. (Robbie) Huff-Salzbrenner of White Deer, TX, Diana L. (Mike) Huff-Schlegel of Colorado City, CO, and Darwin L. (Donna) Huff of Swink; brother, Roy C. (Betty) Holmes of Gordonville, TX; grandchildren, Dawn Marie Smart, Monique Smart-Torrez, Nicole Salzbrenner-Turner, Cassie Salzbrenner, Kerby J. Schlegel, Laura (Missy) Schlegel, Briana K. Huff, and Delbert Cordell (DC) Huff; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brother, James E. Holmes.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in La Junta with Pastor Ray Dodge officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
