Teresa B. Watkins

Teresa B. Watkins, 84, of La Junta, passed away February 18, 2012 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. She was born on January 15, 1928 in St. John, Kansas to Orlin Nelson & Alta Bessie (Gray) Spear. She married Billy Behm; he preceded her in death in 1966. Later marrying Even Watkins; he preceded her in death in 1994.

Teresa lived in Denver and later moved to Crawford, CO and later moved to Manzanola where she lived until 1995 when she moved to La Junta for her remaining years. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

Teresa is survived by her three step-children; sisters, Pauline Huff, Irene (Frank) Brown, and Florence Melvin; sister-in-law, Mina Carroll; two step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and great & great, great nieces & nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Etta Durham, brother, Luther Corrall, and three nephews and two nieces.




Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Graveside service at 11:00 a.m. both services are at the Las Animas/Bent County Cemetery with Father Alphonsus Ihuoma of Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish officiating.
