Tony Dolenc

Tony Dolenc, 97, of La Junta passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. At Tony’s request cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held in Wyoming at a later date. He was born on April 22, 1912 in Winter Quarter, Utah to Anton & Louisa (Perko) Dolenc. He married Mary Garcia, who preceded him in death.Tony lived in Wyoming for most of his life and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked as a coalminer from the age of 13 then worked for Sweetwater County. He is survived by his daughters, Priscilla (Dave) Kropuenske; Norma (Greg) Haugen; son-in-law, Gregg Skala; grandchildren, Greg (Tina) Haugen, Jr., and Veronica Skala; brothers, Willie Dolenc, Louie Zutman, and Danny Dolenc; great-grandchildren, Kevin & Allyson Haugen.Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Anton & Louisa Dolenc; wife, Mary Dolenc; daughter, Louise and several brothers & sisters.Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
