Tony Gallegos

Tony Gallegos, 74, passed away at his La Junta home on July 7, 2018. He was born on May 9, 1944 in La Junta to Paul & Rebecca (Sena) Gallegos. Tony married Rose Martinez in La Junta in 1960.

Tony was an Ordained Minister preaching in La Junta, Cheyenne Wells, South Carolina and Texas. He enjoyed working on cars, traveling to the mountains to fish and pick pinon nuts. He loved his family, wife, children, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

Tony is survived by his wife, Rose of the La Junta home; children, Donna Gallegos, Joann (Jorge) Herrera, Victor Gallegos, and James (Echo) Gallegos; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; siblings, Julian Gallegos, Marcella Gallegos, Millie Comacho, Paul Gallegos, Mary Gallegos, and Leroy Gallegos. Numerous nieces and nephews survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Pamela Gallegos on July 15, 2012; son, Donald Gallegos on Dec. 23, 2016; grandsons, Zabian Lorenzo, Jeremiah & Josiah Herrera; sister, Gloria Batres and brother, Willie Gallegos.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Sam Herrera of Victory Chapel officiating. Inurnment will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors.
