Vincent Hernandez

Vincent Hernandez of La Junta went to be with our Lord October 31, 2018. Holy
Rosary will be Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Memorial Mass. Both services will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish.

Vincent was born January 11, 1931 in La Junta to Marciano and Guadalupe Hernandez. He married his loving wife, Mollie of 66 years on May 2, 1952.

He attended La Junta schools and enjoyed telling stories of his years working at Western Canning as the Lead Maintenance Foreman. He also worked at the Pueblo Army Depot and loved the years he spent as a driver for Big Valley Ford. Vincent could always be found in his garage creating something for himself, or others.

Vincent was kind hearted, charming, had a loving smile, and a great sense of humor. He loved life and especially loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He also strongly believed in God's love and will. Vincent will be sadly missed by everyone he knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife Mollie Hernandez of La Junta; his children, Anthony J. (Janie) Hernandez of La Junta, Gloria (John) Gardner of Colorado Springs, Alfred Hernandez of Denver, Cesario (Tiffany) Hernandez of Pueblo, and Angela (Angelo) Salaz of Castle Rock; grandchildren, Erica Hernandez, Shannon (Isaac) Montanez, Haley (Manuel) Hernandez, Arianna Hernandez, Josiah Hernandez; Nathan Hernandez; great grandchildren, Esperanza Hernandez, Jada Hernandez, Jayvion Hernandez, Aubrianna Salaz, Mariah Salaz, Tylena Salaz and lvaan Montanez; sisters, Susie (Bud) Neatherlin, Patty Saenz; brother, Paul (Vena) Hernandez.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marciano and Guadalupe Hernandez; grandmother, Lorenza Tabares, sister, Jenny Herrera; brothers, Phil Hernandez, Antonio Hernandez, Lorenzo Lopez, and Raymond Hernandez; great grandson, Kristopher Cordova.
