Alvin Jay “A.J.” Hall, 58, of La Junta passed away on December 16, 2018 at the Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo. He was born on March 25, 1960 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Jerre L. & Marida C. (Baker) Hall. He was a beloved son, brother, father, friend and partner. Every life has a story and while words can never capture it adequately nor fully, this is A.J.’s.
His family moved to Colorado where they made their home in La Junta to be near family on both sides of mom & dad.
A.J.’s childhood was a joyous and happy time of exploring the hills, riverbeds and canyons around the Arkansas Valley and learning about life. He learned from his father the value of work, from his mother giving, from his sister kindness and from his brother friendship. He took those lessons and formal education wherever he went. After high school, he did some college and spent some time working on the Railroad. A.J. landed in Phoenix, AZ following in his father’s footsteps where he worked in residential construction eventually becoming a superintendent of builders.
A.J. married and had two beautiful healthy daughters. They became his pride and joy. In 2014, he returned to La Junta to care for and be near his family. There he met a wonderful friend and partner, Rhonda that gave him a new and renewed happiness.
He is survived by his daughters, Alexandria Hall of Phoenix, AZ; Abigale Hall of Queen Creek, AZ; parents, Jerre (Marida) Hall of La Junta; sister, Jerra Nardone of Prescott Valley, AZ; and brother, Steven Hall of Newport Beach, CA. He was preceded in death by his two infant sons.
As per A.J.’s request cremation has taken place and a celebration of A.J.'s life will be held on March 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the North La Junta Community Center.
