Angelina Casias Romero, 85, of La Junta, Colorado passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 at her La Junta home. She was born Wednesday, February 15, 1939 in Springer, New Mexico to Frank & Felicita (Cruz) Casias.
Angie loved her children more than anything. Angie always worked very hard. She loved dancing and visiting with family and friends. Angie loved cooking, baking, canning and roasting chilies. Angie grew up in an apple orchard in Miami, New Mexico and later moved to Trinidad, and then moved to La Junta, Colorado. Angie worked at Western Canning for many years then went on to work at Nibco as a machine operator then when Nibco closed she worked at Copper Kitchen restaurant for many years.
Angie is survived by her children, Virginia (Lawrence) Imperial of Santa Fe, NM, Dorothy (Ignacio) Rivera of Phoenix, AZ, Louis Casias of La Junta, Kenny (Sharla) Powell of Rapid City, SD, Robert Powell of La Junta and Shirley Torres of La Junta; 2 sisters; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews; . She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jose Romero; son, Charles Powell; her brothers & sisters.
Graveside Committal service will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta with Father Joseph Matitu of Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish officiating.
