Anita Delana Connally, 64, of Ordway passed away on May 2, 2019 at the Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo. She was born on April 13, 1955 in La Junta to Lucian Riley & Goldie Dorothy (Powell) Connally.
Anita graduated from La Junta high school with the class of 1973. She participated in the STEPS program and served as secretary for several years. She loved music and played the organ and keyboard. She loved to share her music at church and nursing homes. She auditioned for Americas Got Talent and Pueblo’s Got Talent. She loved all animals and rescued many over the years. She studied art at Otero Junior College and won several awards. She loved spending time with her family and friends, doing arts and crafts, playing games with her nieces & nephews and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. John Cravens, Sr.; sister, Teresa (Herb) Nelson; half-sisters, Sue Connally, Nadine Connally, and Stella Kay Connally; numerous nieces, nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucian R. & Goldie D. Connally; siblings, Raymond Connally, Dean Connally, Terry Connally, Fred Connally, Donald Connally, Dorothy Bamber, Richard “Billie” Hood, Ernie “Jr” Hood, Roy Allen Hood, Charles Connally, Marjorie Ruiz and Therman Connally.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Mark Fisher officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to service.
