Aurelia V. Gonzales

Aurelia Viola Gonzales, 84, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025. She was born on April 3, 1941 in Maes, New Mexico to Miguel and Margaret (Gallegos) Maestas.

Aurelia attended school in Rocky Ford, Colorado and was a self-educated woman. She was a staple of the community. She volunteered at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Church and various other establishments in the community. Her passion was caring for others.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Rod) Davidson; her son, Paul Gonzales; Ten Grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great, great-grandchildren; four brothers, one sister; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Gonzales, parents, Miguel & Margaret Maestas, a sister, and three brothers.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Friday, June 27, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Joseph Matitu officiating.
