Benancio Ignacio Trujillo, Jr.

Benancio Ignacio Trujillo, Jr., 69, of Las Animas passed away on December 17, 2021, at the UC Health Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. He was born on May 1, 1952, to Benancio, Sr. & Lorenza (Gonzales) Trujillo in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He married Mary Jane Trujillo on December 26, 1979; she preceded him in death on September 16, 2016.

Benancio enjoyed fishing, carpentry, spending time with his family and friends, and helping those whom he loved. He had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

He is survived by his children, Amanda (James) Trujillo-Witt of Las Animas; Denise (Clayton) Conty of California; Robert (Michelle) Lindsey-Lovato of California; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins; siblings, Maria Medina, Nora (Gilbert) Romero, Nancy (Andres) Rivera, Kathy (George) Gomez, Susan Howell, Benjamin (Linda) Trujillo, Mike (Betty) Trujillo, and David (Sandy) Trujillo. He was preceded in death his wife, parents, sister, Betty Lou Sandoval and brother, Roger Trujillo.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be January 6, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Victor Raj officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
