Benny Sr. Baca

Benny Baca, Sr., 75, passed away Jan. 1, 2012, at his La Junta home.  He was born on May 6, 1936 La Junta, Colorado to Sarafin & Cruz (Rosales) Baca. He married Jennie Baca on October 20, 1954 in Raton, New Mexico.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie of the La Junta home; children, Daniel (Diane) Baca of Rocky Ford, Louise (Sonny Romero) Valario of Pueblo, Benny Baca, Jr. of Trinidad, Sammy (Jessie May) Baca and Mark (Aubrey) Diaz of La Junta; brother, Raymond Baca of La Junta; and sister Fina (Herman) Sandoval of La Junta; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four great, great-grandchildren also survive. Benny was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Johnny; brothers, Bobby, Phillip, and Richard Baca.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Robert Hernandez of Rocky Ford officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, January 6, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Peacock Funeral Home.
