Betty Irene Wooten, 80, of Kim passed away on March 27, 2019 at the Crowley County Nursing Home in Ordway. She was born on April 19, 1938 in Raton, New Mexico to Joseph & Lorean (White) Doherty.
Betty had a bachelor’s degree in business and was a loan officer for many years. She enjoyed the outdoors, taking care of her cattle, bowling, enjoyed the Arkansas valley cattlewomen organization. She was member of the Southern Baptist Church. But most of all she loved being a rancher. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Randell) Pond of Fountain, CO; sons, Steve (Joy) Wooten of Kim, CO and Douglas Wooten of Lakewood, CO; brother, John Albert (Carolyn) Doherty of Kim, CO; nephew, Joe (Lisa) Doherty of Branson, CO; grandchildren, Niki (Rusty) Henard of Tatum, NM; Arin (Brady) Burnham of Kim, CO; Lee (Heidi) Pond of Colorado Springs; Justin (Julie) Pond of South Mills, N.C.; Daniel Pond of Colorado Springs; Jessica (Aaron) Maslow of Denver and Misty Givan of Lakewood; 13 great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Lorean Doherty.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.at the Kim Equine Pavilion in Kim with Pastor Jeb Brown of the River of Life Fellowship officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
