Carol Ann Aragon, 59, passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2022, surrounded by her husband and children. She was born on April 5, 1962, in Pueblo to Tommy and Delores Gallegos.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Carol. She loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals for her family. She enjoyed traveling, and weekend getaways with her husband, spa days with her daughters, and attending all of her son and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Of course, anyone who knew her, knows that shopping was her favorite pastime. She loved her family, fiercely, and was loved even more in return. Carol’s love of life didn’t end with her death, as her husband, children and grandchildren will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Carol is survived by her husband, Mark, daughter, Janelle (James) Balicki, son, Mark Aragon Jr., daughter, Alexis (Keitaro) Mameda; grandchildren, Jaden, Daxton, Beau and Berkeley, all of La Junta; two sisters, Veronica Gallegos and Tonya Martinez, along with numerous nieces and nephews who all meant so much to her. She is preceded in death by her father, Tommy Gallegos, mother, Delores Martinez, granddaughter, Jacelyn Balicki, and father-in-law, Ernesto Aragon.
A Funeral service to honor Carol’s beautiful life will be held Monday, January 31, 2022, at 11:00 am at the La Junta First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Mark Callister officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
