Carolyn P. Sorensen, 84, of La Junta, Colorado passed away June 30, 2026 in Pueblo, Colorado. She was born to Carl and Blanche Rodarmel on April 19, 1942, in Springfield, CO. She later became a big sister to brothers Alvin and Jerry. The family moved to Pueblo, CO, when Carolyn was five years old, and she considered Pueblo her hometown.
Carolyn was well-traveled and lived in various states and countries, including Japan, Texas, Michigan, and Colorado. She had four children with husbands Bob Chambers and Dale Shroyer. In 1975, Carolyn married Norman Sorensen in Pueblo, CO. They remained together for 48 years until Norman’s death in 2023.
Carolyn worked in a variety of fields, including psychiatry, healthcare, and utilities. In her later years, she became a popular substitute teacher in the La Junta school system. She loved animals, reading, and watching classic Westerns on television.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; brother Alvin Rodarmel; husbands Bob, Dale, and Norman; and sons James and Randall Chambers. She is survived by son Robert (Ruby) Chambers of Anchorage, AK; daughter Denise Sorensen of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter Kayla (Douglas) Chambers of Denver, CO; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
