Catalina Guerrero Harris (Torrez)72, of Plano, Texas passed peacefully in her sleep at home on November 30th, 2025. She was born on April 30th, 1953, to Miguel and Rosa (Guerrero) Torrez in La Junta, CO.
Soon after graduation, she went to California, met her husband, James Harris, and had 3 children: Chaka Harris, Whitney (Justin) Blackwood, and Quincy (Joyce) Harris. Catalina was a life student. She was always learning. She had numerous degrees and certificates. She studied Criminal Justice, Child Development, Floral Design, Real Estate, Massage Therapy, Interior Decorating and more. Many will know her as a fierce personality, but she was also a fiercely loving and devoted friend. She has a big heart and will be missed. Till We meet again.
Catalina is survived by her husband of over 50+ years, James Harris of Plano, TX; children, Chaka Harris of Plano, TX; Whitney (Justin) Blackwood of Saginaw, TX; and Quincy (Joyce) Harris of Corsicana, TX; grandchildren, Vanessa Blackwood, Amara Blackwood, Tegan Blackwood, Cecilia Harris & Isabella Harris; sister, Ledia Ayala; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, Miguel & Rosa Torrez; siblings, Eddie, Gilbert, Tim, Pedro, Joe, Blas and Alvino.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:0 a.m. Both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish, in La Junta, with Father Jay Gapayao officiating. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
