Chad Walter Roberson, 64, of Arlington, Colorado passed away December 2, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. He was born June 9, 1961, in La Junta, Colorado to Clarence & Barbara (Tull) Roberson.
Even when life threw curveballs and he couldn’t do what he loved; he was always a cowboy at heart. His most famous story was roping a calf while sitting on a fence and then getting drug around at only four years old. Of course, his dad was furious, but the hired hands thought it was the greatest thing ever. The man was never scared to train a new colt and loved the wide-open space. That began his journey through Little Britches Rodeo riding broncs and bulls until the summer of 79’.
Around that time of meeting his future wife and mother of his children. They wed the night of her high school graduation and through the next 42 years they would have four children and eight grandchildren to love and spoil. He always stayed true to his roots and lived locally to where he grew up. The cowboy’s way of life was the way he wanted it to be. His love for cowboying, livestock, 4-H and FFA grew only more with his children. Anything as small as chickens and rabbits, to as big as Draft Horses, he raised and showed them. His knowledge of all things animals was vastly known throughout the area. Everything he was involved in; his wife and kids were close by always helping, even if that meant sitting waiting patiently because he always found someone to talk to! He knew almost everyone!
As he grew older, the cowboy ways became a thing of the past even though it lived on within him. He then enjoyed the great outdoors with hunting and camping with his dogs and wife. When he wasn’t able to spend time with them, he loved taking the time to talk on the phone to his kids and grandkids, they truly were the light of his life. At the end, he was surrounded by those he loved deeply and took his final breath with his wife by his side. He will be forever loved and forever missed.
Chad is survived by his wife, Shawn Roberson of the family home; children, Brandi (Ryan) Reinhardt of Russell, KS; Jace (Addison) Roberson of Happy, TX; Carrie (Greg) Neal of Eads, CO; Lakota (Sam) Cox of McClave, CO; grandchildren, Kalli & Kathrine Reinhardt; Jasper, Wyatt, Bailee, & Hunter Neal; and Tucker & Colter Cox; siblings, Dale Roberson of Bradenton, FL; Robin (Loyd) Broce of Cheraw, CO; and Ty Roberson of Amarillo, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, & extended family members also survive.
