Cheryl Milsene Freidenberger passed away in Palisade, CO on Saturday, January, 25, 2020.
Cheryl was born on December 16, 1949 in La Junta, CO to Chester and Milsene Bay. Cheryl graduated from La Junta High School in 1967 and went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Robert Freidenberger on June 7, 1970.
Cheryl was an active member of the La Junta community, which included many years volunteering for the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary. She was a past President of the La Junta Chamber of Commerce. Cheryl also served the Associated Charities by keeping books for them.
Cheryl was an active member of both the Church of God and the Presbyterian Churches where she played the piano, organ and the bells. Cheryl was also a member of the local PEO chapter.
Cheryl enjoyed sewing and quilting and was a past President of the Prairie Piecers Quilt Guild.
Cheryl loved her family and friends and especially spending time with her 4 grandchildren. She traveled to Grand Junction several times a year to be able to spend time with them. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Milsene Bay. She is survived by her husband, Bob of almost 50 years; her daughters, Suzette (Ryan) Swygman and Melinda (Michael) Marks both of Grand Junction; grandchildren Adriana and Amelia Swygman and Madelyn and Xavier Marks all of Grand Junction; her sister Connie (Nick) Nicholas of Pueblo, and her brother Ron (Lindy) Bay of La Junta.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February, 8, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in La Junta located at 111 East 20th Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cheryl's honor to Hope West Hospice (hopewestco.org) of Grand Junction or the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.
