Colby B. Piersall, a devoted family man, a cherished friend, and a steadfast servant of his country, passed away on June 4, 2026, in Ordway, Colorado. Born on April 16, 1970, in Dumass, Texas to Lawrence & Sharon (Francis) Piersall. Colby lived a life marked by unwavering faith, boundless joy, and a deep commitment to those he loved.
Colby pursued his education with determination and earned an associate’s degree. His 30-year carreer in the United States Army exemplified his patriotism and sense of duty. Retiring as a Staff Sergeant in 2018, Colby’s military career was distinguished by honor, resilience, and leadership, qualities that he carried into every aspect of his life.
Known widely as the life of the party, Colby had a unique gift for brightening any room he entered. His infectious laughter and the biggest, warmest hugs left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a caring soul, always ready to uplift others, and his overall happiness was both inspiring and contagious. Above all, Colby was a man of faith deeply committed to proclaiming the word of God, finding great joy in sharing the gospel and inspiring others through his devotion.
Colby’s passions extended beyond his faith and service. He loved spending quality time with family and friends, cherishing every moment shared. An avid fan of Star Wars, Texas Longhorns football, and the Boston Red Sox, he embraced his interests with enthusiasm. Life on the ranch brought him peace and satisfaction, particularly when working cattle—a reflection of his deep connection to the land and his roots.
Colby B. Piersall leaves behind a legacy defined by love, laughter, and faithful service. Though he has departed, the light he brought into the lives of so many will continue to shine brightly.
Colby is survived by his wife, Kathy Piersall; children, MacKenzie Piersall, Miles (Candi) Piersall, and Wyatt Piersall; grandson, Atlas Piersall; mother, Sharon (Monte) Bond; brothers, Justin (Shanna) Bond & Brian (Donna) Kuntz; numerous nieces & nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Piersall; brother, Brett Bond; maternal grandparents, John & Betty Francis; and paternal grandparents, Jack & Nadine Piersall.
