Craig Mark King, 68, passed away February 10, 2023, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs. Craig was born March 29, 1954, in La Junta to Robert & Lula (Doughty) King.
Craig King was a remarkable man. He was a welder for more than 40 years and amazing at it. He loved hanging out with his grandchildren. Well, he loved all children and was a mentor to many. He was a prankster and enjoyed getting the kids involved in his pranks. No wonder his favorite comedian was Gabriel Iglesias *AKA "Fluffy." He loved playing the harmonica for the dogs and encouraged them to sing along. He really enjoyed playing dominoes with his brother, Robert. His favorite past time was spending time with and loving his soul mate, Susan.
Craig was a member of the Southern Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing in the Church Choir and everyone loved to listen to his beautiful voice. His illness prevented him from singing in the Church Choir in recent years but he would still bless us with his voice at home. His favorite song to sing was "It is Well."
Craig is survived by his wife, Susan of the La Junta home; children, Jeremy (Missy) King of La Junta; Joshua (Rebecca) Haimowitz-King of Columbus, Ohio; Jonathon King of La Junta; and Joel (Lalena) King of Yucca Valley, California; grandchildren, Jacob King, January (Mitchell) Peabody, Jayde King, Justin King, Abby Diamond, Annabel Ronin, and Asher King; great-grandchildren, Paisley & Jaxon; 2 sisters & 3 brothers. Craig was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kennard King.
