Dakota Eve Settle, 18, of La Junta passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2018 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta. She was born on September 20, 1999 to Daniel E. & Neomi V. (Moore) Settle in Fayetteville, NC.
Her passions were music, swimming, friends and family and she was one who was always there if someone needed something or if someone needed help.
Her infectious smile and laugh always brightened anyone's day and her spirit, kindness and laughter made the world a much better place to be in. Dakota's life threw her many curve balls and every time she mastered the challenge and was not afraid of a fight. She will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her father, Daniel Settle of La Junta; mother, Neomi Vicki Morre of Pueblo; sisters, Danielle and Deborah Settle both of La Junta. She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Rose Bookhammer; grandparents, James (Mary-Irene) Settle, Richard James Moore and Aunt, Sharon Salas.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. followed be the funeral service at 10 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gordon Smith of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
Those wishing to do so may make memorial donations to the Pueblo Zoo direct or through the funeral home.
