Danny Joe Higbee

Danny Joe Higbee, 43, of La Junta passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2021. He was born on July 9, 1977 to Danny E. & Julie (Thompson) Higbee in La Junta.

He enjoyed traveling and learning about history. He would always give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. There was no such thing as a stranger to Danny. He loved spending time with his family, friends and playing pool with his pool league. Danny was a fan of the Denver Broncos and enjoyed going to the football games.

He is survived by his mother, Julie Higbee of La Junta; sisters, Laurie (Mark) Bitter of La Junta; Sherri (Aaron) Adame of Swink; Veronica (Lonnie) Minniear of Arvada, CO; best friend and brother, George Pierson of La Junta; nieces, Kayla (Nick Nunez) Bitter, Kristen (Samuel) Franklin, Danni Minniear, Alyssa (Austton) Nuse; nephews, Aaron (Coutrney) Adame, Austin (Hannah) Adame; one great-niece and two great-nephews, beloved cat, Gizmo and dog, Riley; grandmother, Bonnie Higbee; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; also his Village Inn family and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Eugene Higbee and nephew, Justin Minniear.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene in La Junta.
