Donna Lee Laucus, 80, of La Junta passed away on December 11, 2018 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center.

Donna was born on November 18, 1938 and was the daughter of Eleanor and Joseph Irvine and Ralph Cook. Donna grew up in Aurora, Colorado, and began her career as an LPN at St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.

Donna relocated to La Junta, Colorado, in 1969 and worked as both an LPN and a respiratory therapist at Arkansas Valley Medical Center. She later changed careers and worked as a rural mail carrier and as a tax preparer for H & R Block. Donna then began her own income tax and bookkeeping business while continuing with her postal career. She retired from the post office in 2001, and from her income tax business in 2013. Donna volunteered for several different organizations in La Junta. She was particularly fond of supporting those who cared for animals.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Shawn (Steve) Geist of La Junta; Jamie (BJ) Roberts of Parker, Colorado; son, Mark Laucus of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Jay (Bonnie) Geist of Houston, Texas; Tracy Geist of La Junta; Andrew Roberts of Denver and Danielle Roberts of Fort Collins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eleanor and Joseph Irvine, and her brother Ronnie Cook.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Ron Skorick of the First Christian Church officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
